ABSTRACT

The major purpose of this dissertation was to examine the production of live broadcast in the audio and video feed. There was also a need to assess the various factors related to the production of live broadcast. There were several case studies which were selected to address the major issues associated with the production of live broadcast in the audio and video feed. There was sufficient information that highlighted the background and factors related to the production of live broadcast. In the end, the case studies provided a lot of important evidence which was very important in interpreting the overall results of the study. Therefore, these were the major issues related to research study that was discussed in detail.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

Background of the topic

Distributing video contents over the Internet to a large number of subscribers is a great challenge, because of the bandwidth-consuming and delay-sensitive nature of video streaming services. Peer-to-peer (P2P) networking is a distributed architecture in which each peer makes their resources, such as network bandwidth, disk storage, and computational power, available to other system participants. File-sharing applications over peer-to-peer systems have been successful, and peer-to-peer systems appear to be quite promising for video streaming applications, too. Compared with the traditional client-server model, in which the server bandwidth will be a bottleneck as the system grows, the peer-to-peer paradigm is much more scalable. Peer-to-peer systems also have the advantage of being cost-effective over IP multicast, which is a technique that depends on the support of network infrastructure.

These are the major settings that are very useful for the configuration of the live broadcast in various ...
