The Parole System: Reducing Recidivism

Introduction

Recidivism is the degeneration of doing the act of criminality and it is usually done by an old prisoner's come back to prison for doing the new act of crime. These rates of recidivism directly reflect to the extent to which these crime doers have been reformed, and the role that these preventive programs play in the integration of these offenders into the society. The rate of recidivism in United States is manipulated to be approximately two thirds that show that these two-thirds of the released offenders will be re-imprisoned within the next three years. It shows that the increase in the rates of recidivism directly affects the cost both in terms of the tax dollars that are required to arrest, put on trial and also the cost related to the public safety. Increasing rates of recidivism also tends to increase the social cost of the societies and families of the crime doers, as well as the cost related to the personal crime doer themselves. Because of these high costs, programs and solutions that are related to these offenders can be cost effective even those have reserved rates of success.

Attention to the increasing or decreasing rates of recidivism is a significant way to look at the role of offenders or prisons in rehabilitating prisoners. In addition to this, recidivism affects more social and economic things related to the rate of crime. Consequently, these effects develop more desired consequences in that give employment and educate these offenders and help them in recovering from the material abuse, another significant advantage of the programs is that they provide assistance in decreasing the recidivism and thus decreasing the crime rate and rates of re-prisoner.

These crimes included kidnapping, rapes, robberies, street crimes and other sexual abuses. Different other released offenders are not reported and could not be arrested after doing crimes. Crimes that are done by released offenders are due to the lack of policy and programs such as education and social ...
