Abstract
The use of internet and increasing popularity of social media has impacted almost every single industry. Hotel industry is no different. There is a positive contribution of social media in the enhancement of hotel industry. For instance, social media has become an integral part of the hotel industry as it facilitates travelers to research about favorite tourist destinations. Online reviews make it easy for the travelers to assess the underlying famous destinations and their pros and cons from the viewpoints of people belonging from various different regions. This study intends to explore the role of social media and internet in the enhancement of hotel industry in Malaysia. The design of this particular research revolves around the stimulation of social media and other internet resources in facilitating travelers for planning their visit to Malaysia. Through various researches; it has been observed that searching over internet about travelling always guide the researchers to social media websites for further information. A thorough literature review has been provided in this regard. The study concludes the fact that online tourism field has been impacted by social media. Also; the study reveals the impact over the traditional information assessment due to the existence of internal and social media.

Introduction
Social media has become an integral part of almost all the industries in today's modern world. As far as the hotel industry is concerned; social media has contributed positively in the growth of different hotels. Hotels have gained substantial benefits and profits from the online reviews. In accordance with HotelNewsNow; big hotels in the industry are creating strategies to take advantage of social media marketing. The trends of social media marketing over the last few years have clearly revealed that social media websites like Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and many others have contributed positively in the growth of several hotels. The hotel industry in Malaysia has also leveraged the social media for turning up their brands into industry leaders. This purpose of this study is to investigate the contribution of social media and online tourism to the overall hotel industry in Malaysia. The travel information being supported by the search engines largely depends over the online reviews and blogs posted over the social media. It is expected that the underlying study can assess the current trends over the internet for the purpose of providing important information related to the online tourism and marketing.
