Introduction

The theology of religions is a new field of study that begins to appeal to Christian thinkers eager to pursue a fruitful dialogue with members of non-Christian religions; and contribute to a better understanding of world religions. How does Christianity with other religions of the world? Can you still say that Christianity is unique, given the fact that other religions themselves are proposed as means of ultimate salvation of man? What is the theological basis for the relationship between Christianity and other major religious traditions? Is it possible to be both evangelical and be completely open to what Karl Jaspers called "communication without ties" with Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam? Christians we become more aware of religious pluralism, a rapidly growing, in which we live from day to day among Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and members of other religious traditions. Each of these creeds proclaims his own message of eternal truth and salvation.

The Christian is also the problem of understanding other beliefs in light of their own faith and commitment. He raises the theological problem of how to account for the diversity of religious life with the affirmation of truth of each.
