Introduction

The internet is part of day-to-day lives of the vast majority of the world population, and within this environment a new form of communication that has gained enough prominence in recent years; they are the social networking sites. To understand how was the evolution of social networks on the internet; you need a brief historical account about his appearance.

Contrary to what many think talking about Social Networking does not necessarily mean speaking of internet, the concept of social networking is something far older than our famous web. We represent social networks, social interaction, and social exchange. Speaking of the emergence of social networks leads to the beginning of civilization where men gathered around a campfire to share tastes and interests. The Social Networking arise exactly this need of human beings to share with others, create social bonds that are guided by affinities between them. Thus, we consider social networks as any group that shares a common interest, an ideal, preferably, etc (Arthur, 2009).

That the internet is changing the way society is interacting in recent years is nothing neither new, nor surprising claim that day after day, the communication becomes more digitalized. Just watch as notebooks, tablets and smartphones are increasingly present in our routine. But more importantly, is to analyze how social networks have reached a major role as significant in this scenario, which was far beyond that for which they were initially created.
