The Bell Tower in University of California Riverside (UCR)

Introduction

Bell Tower is 161 foot tall tower, and it is the center of the University of California Riverside campus (Owens, pp. 120-298). It is the meeting point for all people as it is the center of the campus. It is not only the meeting location, it also present live concerts by UCR Carillonneur, David Christensen. David Christensen is in the University of California Riverside since 1987, and he is the third Carillonneur there, with over 500 concerts.

Role, purpose and actions of the Bell Tower

When one of the performers, Mr. Donald Johns, was interviewed at the Bell tower in University of California Riverside, he said that the Bell Tower is the center of the campus. So it is the best place to meet people and get connected with different people. He also said that this place holds a lot of performances by bands and other clubs (Wald, pp. 56-94). This is a place where people love to hang around. Also, it has a gigantic clock, which can be viewed by anyone, and can see the time from any location on campus. For him, the Bell Tower is like a sun in our solar system as it is the center of the university campus. Further when he was asked about performance at the Bell Tower, he said that even though people do not pay attention to his performances, it is still great experience performing live at the Bell Tower which is the center of the University of California Riverside. He said that the best part of the performance is that one can see the magnificent sights during the performance. The top of the Bell Tower is the most enjoyable place, and performing there is one of the life time experiences. This shows the role of the Bell Tower, as it gives a terrific experience while performing, which no other place can give.

Continuing the interview he shared his feelings when he went on the top of the Bell Tower. He said that nothing can be compared with the view that one see's from the top of the Bell Tower in UCR. He further said that one gets the feeling of being free and feels calm once he get at the top the Bell Tower.
