Introduction

The aim and objective of this paper is to study the global issue of Terrorism in the light of historical reflections. The activities and consequences of terrorism are also discussed in the paper. The terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre found to be the major mishap of the history which caused plenty of human lives. On 11th September, 2001 United States was attacked by Al-Qaida which intensified the scientific analysis of the observable fact of terrorism (Crenshaw, 2006). But, there are still no uniform and conceptual definitions of terrorism have been analyzed. Some of the studies reveal various definitions of Terrorism. It is a type of political fight which includes a series of attacks and massacres. The terrorism activities result in damage of government properties, ethnic groups and religious beliefs (Jenkins, 2003).

Today, terrorism is seen and practiced in a different way as it was manifested before. It needs proper planning, emphasizes on particular objectives, funds and the individuals who can execute such activities. In view of few researchers, terrorist activities are financially supported by successful individuals, who have personal or state advantages with the movement. The terrorists utilize dangerous explosives, gases, radioactive materials and atomic weapons.

International terrorism poses a threat primarily to the legal norms of civilization and culture, which is based on Western society and Western international order. If the fight against terrorism is to be effective, it must be based on strong moral and legal standards that will allow not only the protection of life, health and prosperity of the Western world, but also the standards that constitute its identity. Otherwise negligence due to the pragmatics of security systems can fail, threatening the foundations of the current international order (Heymann, 2001).
