Introduction

Working in the same industry, Southwest Airlines and Jet Blue Air are the two airlines having a different mission and vision statement. The mission statement of Southwest airline is divided into two parts. 1st is dedicated to their customers and 2nd toward their employees. The main focus of south west airline is on their customer services. They dedicate their highest quality to their customers in terms of warmth, friendliness, individual pride and sprit. They try to maintain their business strategy by keeping customers happy, serving at their best so that customer may feel the sense of satisfaction and commitment. They have no differentiation strategy for classes of customer services, they believe in balanced serving and this makes their customer service unique.

Vision statement is a long-term goal. South west airlines had it defined in a very uncomplicated and undemanding way. South west claimed that, they are company of people and not planes. Hence, through customer satisfaction they tend to increase their growth rate in terms of both customer satisfaction as well as capitalizing of profits. They aim to cut the schedules of other airline with their economical rate, safe-flight strategies. They tend to attain success in the long term.

JetBlue is an airline business that was created to make money. They provide comfortable airline services for their customers, modeled after the Southwest Airline style. With indicators in place, JetBlue's mission statement appears as more of a slogan and is quickly dispensed in one sentence: “Our mission is to bring humanity back to air travel” (JetBlue Annual Report, 2010). The company has never formalized a standard vision plan or traditional vision statement

JetBlue replaces a formalized mission statement with five core values: safety, caring, fun, integrity, and passion (Judd, 2003). These five values are deemed so significant that they are printed on every paper paycheck JetBlue issues (“Effectively Managing,” 2004).

Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines is the largest airline company in America. They created a brand association of being the “Low cost” fare provider and continued doing that. This is strength for southwest, which they used it as an opportunity for them to develop. A value is created when an organization is successful in analyzing the product or service they are trying to promote. They need to know what is important for them.

For southwest Customer Satisfaction had always been a top priority, be in their mission statement or motto. South west offered its customer with low cost and customer satisfaction. They didn't divert from their mission statement. They had always emphasized on their concern regarding their customer and employees.

With his work and determination, southwest was able to create a customer loyalty base, with its frank customer services. Its employees love their job due to which customer base even become stronger.
