This paper aims at analyzing the recent movie of James bond, “Skyfall” in order to examine the various representations of heritage, modernity and decay in relation to the spaces of London. When viewed, it is realized that the Skyfall has covered the city spaces from Scotland to Shanghai. The paper aims at discussing the representation of London considering these aspects. Basically, the film was broadcasted at the time of 50th anniversary of James Bond. The film Skyfall has been regarded as a really enjoyable movie containing action spectacular. Its concept is more convincing and grounded than the older ones. Being an action movie of James Bond, it has found a spectral position between realism and extravagance (Armstrong, 2012).

The City Spaces Presented in the Movie
The movie is based on an investigation carried out by James bond acting as an M16 agent. The computer hard drive was stolen that contained the confidential details of undercover agents. The theft was done in Istanbul, leading to the false death of the Bond as his partner had killed him instead of killing the thief, Patrice. Then, Bond returns in Shanghai city, because of the retirement of the head of the M16. The death of Patrice led Bond to find the chip in the city Macau. The city of Macau is further represented as the lost island of the city is shown in the movie, which is “Hashima”. Bond is trapped in the island, but somehow he managed to get rid of the prison and takes Silva to the Britain. After bringing Silva to the M16, her laptop was mistakenly enabled to access the M16 database instead of decrypting it. Silva took the benefit of it, and attacked the opponent, M (the head of M16) while handling the hard drive.
At the same time, Bond is running through the tunnel network of London, which is another representation of London city spaces. Reaching in time, Bond takes M to the Skyfall (another city space of London), which is his childhood state in the Scotland. Then again Silva attacks M, but luckily Bond saves her, and Silva is wounded a little with the response attack of Bond. Silva follows M to the Chapel, another city space of London, where he is killed ultimately by Bond. This ends the investigation carried out by James and his partner.
Moreover, while entering the headquarter of M16, the city spaces including “Smithfield car park in West Smithfield”, “National Gallery in Southwark”, “Parliament Square in Whitehall”, “Charing Cross Station”, “Tower Hill”, “Cadagon Square”, and “Old Royal Naval College of Greenwich” are also shown in the various scenes of the film.
