Introduction

Sport is a lively part in the life of any individual. It takes immense exertion to become a player whether you acquire professional skills for the game or remain an unskilled player. Adopting the required skills helps an individual play safely by avoiding the expected injuries at maximum. This essay aims to find out the difference of playing a game, here a basket ball, between skilled and unskilled player. There a few angles involved which need to be assessed on the basis of their movement. They are ankle, knee, trunk, and elbow. I used my observational skills to establish my findings on a shooting position, the time of release and a follow through it (Chappel et al., 2005, pp.102-150).

Fatigue is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the life of every basketball player. It influences the shooting kinematics of an athlete. The angles exert pressure on certain angles of our body which this essay attempts to differentiate between the approaches of the two players.

Discussion

Basketball is game between the two teams with five players playing in a rectangular court. There is a 18 inches hoop at 10 feet of height form the ground. It is a popular and viewed by millions of viewers worldwide. A player and a team eventually score a goal while shooting the ball through the basket. A field goal can score two points for shooting team when a player touches or gets closer to the basket over three point line. The game is fast paced in which contravention and fouls is a routine to happen. There are techniques in the game like shooting, giving passes, dribbling (the major part) and rebounding. There are centre, power and small forward positions which make the game more interesting (Okubo & Hubbard, 2006, pp.1-12).

There are two common shots in the game; they are 'jump-shot' and 'lay-up'. The jump-shot is projected from standing position whereby the foot never leaves the ground and causes for free throw. It can be done in the mid air as well. At the peak of the jump, the player releases the ball. It calls for extreme power and wide range that makes the player take a high jump over the opposite team defender. On the other hand, lay-up makes the player reach the basket while remaining in a motion. The player lays the ball up. This shot has to go accurate or else it goes wrong for sure.
