Simpsons vs. Family Guy

Introduction

In today's world there are many TV shows that get the people attention. Whether it is dramas, sope operas, action, comedy, or cartoons, they hav4e gotten the peoples attention. The number one show that has gotten the peoples attention are cartoons. In particular, The Simpsons and Family Guy are two similar in many ways and different in others. First, The Simpson and Family Guy have been the number best comedy shows in America. The Simpsons and Family Guy are both two dysfunctional families that deal with everyday life.

Analysis

The family in The Simpsons live a fictional town called Springfield where there is always something bad going on. The family in Family Guy live in a town named Quadhog where there is always violence going on. The families have had to overcome many obstacles in there town like when aliens attack earth, when terrorist bomb there town, when hurricanes attack there town, etc. The families aren't really liked by there neighbors when there children do something wrong. The families both always start a fight or make problems worse (www.xomba.com).

With Family Guy currently in its 8th season and with ratings still high for both the new episodes on Fox and the syndicated episodes on Adult Swim and TBS, it seems that this show has no plans on going anywhere. Family Guy is often compared with The Simpson's, and rightfully so; both shows base the majority of their humor on social satire, the rest of the humor on physical comedy, and both have severely overweight main characters whose lack of intelligence tends to drive the plot (blog.media-freaks.com).
