Sears is headquartered in Illinois. It is an American multinational midrange departmental store chain. The official name of Sears is Sears Holdings Corporation. Sears is a world renowned market chain departmental store operating globally. The success of Sears is a result of the conscientious execution of planning and great ideas implementation. However, their compensation packages are regarded as being worse which leads to the negative impression and image of the company. This also impacts the credibility of the company and challenges the overall integrity issues of Sears. Therefore, it was proposed earlier to the company to concentrate on the compensation and benefits programs and packages of the company. The human resource department also suffers from the issues related to compensation and benefits (Abowd, 1995). This compels the employees to resist and lag in workflow resulting in the downfall of overall productivity of the company. The compensation should be based on managerial and workers position.
The main challenge faced by Sears Company is the issues related to compensation and benefit. Therefore, the compensation department might be held responsible for the decline in productivity and employee's resist in work. The partners of the business must also balance the profit orientation with the welfare of the workers. The previous misconduct of Sears led to strikes and other complications in the work environment which highly affected the productivity. In response to the grievances, no improvements were made to the condition of the staff. Instead, new staff was hired. Sears must safeguard such issues in future and device strategies to cater the internal factors such as rights of the employees. To resolve the internal issues, Sears has now regarded every employee as its partner to value the workforce of the business. Thus, each employee has influence on the business activities. This opportunity granted employees a branch forum to discuss the local issues at every store regarding their compensation and benefit issues (Clayton, 2004).
