Introduction

This paper intends to discuss the revitalization and maintenance efforts for the Inuit aboriginal Language of North Eastern Canada. The aboriginal people living in Canada are basically the ones who are indigenous people living within North America. The aboriginal people exist within the boundaries of Canada comprising the first nations, Inuit and Métis. Similarly; the descriptors of Indian and Eskimo living in Canada are essentially considered as pejorative. This paper will define the aboriginal people of Inuit, the language of Inuit, the prevalence of Inuit language in Canada and the strategies which are considered important for making sure that the language does not get extinct from the boundaries of Canada. The purpose of this paper is to talk about how the revitalization and maintenance efforts for the Inuit aboriginal Language of North Eastern Canada.

Inuit

Inuit is basically a nationality which is known with the descendants of anthropology. The Thule culture emerging from the Western Alaska in the periods of 1000 CE seems to represent the development of Inuit. The history of Inuit refers to the Tuniit or in easy words giants. In 1300; the Inuit got settlement within the West Greenland. With the passage of time; they moved into East Greenland and created their presence throughout the Southern Cultures. However, the boundary disputes were common and leading to the aggressive actions (Dorais, 2010).

The people of Inuit were commonly known for getting involved in warfare. The culture of Thule started to arrive in Greenland from the region which is now named as Canada. The people of Inuit have also attained remarkable achievements. For instance; Abraham Ulrikab and his family became a zoo exhibit in Hamburg; Tanya Tagag a famous traditional singer and the many others. Despite not being known to many people; the Inuit culture is immense and fortified.

Inuit Language

The language of Inuit belongs to a close and related group of Native American languages. The presence of Inuit languages can be largely traced within the suburbs of North America Arctic region. Also; the boundaries of Canada near North America have indigenous people commonly known as Aboriginal people in Canada. The languages spoken by these people are essentially Yupik Languages which are common in Western and Southern Alaska and Russian Far East (www.ece.gov).

Moving on, the next important language spoken in this category is the Inuit language. Inuit people basically exist in three countries named Greenland, Canada and the United States of America. The entire population which speaks the Inuit language is quite small. The populations generally speak different languages in accordance with their particular traditions. The precise assessment of such languages remains difficult as the census data do not represent the accurate information about the languages.
