Exploring the Markets of UAE for U.S. Import/ Export
Introduction
United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the country I have selected to explore against the economic and corporate opportunities. UAE has already established its positive status worldwide. Western part of the world finds it a pleasing place and a trade hub. According to U.S.-U.A.E. Business Council (2013) both countries have vigorous nature of trade and investment ties. Besides, UAE has become one of the quickest expanding economic allies with U.S (Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Washington, 2013). Their exports and imports have earned a commendable rapport among the world traders. Comparative analysis shows that the actual investment has crossed the expected figures. In spite of the diversified nature of the economy it has attained a primary role by displaying soft and modern image of Arab world. At present UAE has become prime consume of U.S. goods and services. They alone stand with imports of $8.4 billion. Over 500 U.S. businesses companies have their operating offices in Emirati land. Moreover, about 20,000 thousand U.S. nationals live and work in UAE. The statistics show an extremely promising future for the two countries, despite many exposed problems from the Muslim world. The countries are coming even closer in future bringing their economic ties closer than ever. The growth figures reveal the journey of their partnership (see appendix) (Katz, 2013).

They take things very seriously right from the appointment to arriving at any agreement. UAE consider time in a highly relaxing manner but give more emphasis on making informal relationship with their partners (Menon, n.d).
Power Distance
Power in their culture is supreme which usually lies in the hand of one or two person in a single business. That person may solely listen to the recommendations from the junior members of the business. It is mostly autocratic leadership with unequal allocation of power towards decision making. People from West normally find it hard to convince them onto certain agenda due to this power imbalance. Usually the silent member of the meeting is the most influential member since he is responsible for making all major decisions (The Report Abu-Dhabi, 2010).
Communication Style
In United States, people are too formal with their communication style and often use non-verbal communication to even discuss any agenda. In UAE, the businesses often rely on verbal communication and believe in arranging many informal meetings prior to even thinking of any idea of creating alliance. In their business culture, you need to build a relationship by meeting junior members of the firm. The business meetings hold a significant role in carrying out corporate introduction and arriving at some ...
