Introduction

The central theme of this article hovers around the attitude of students pertaining to substance abuse and treatment. The problem related to the substance abuse is on ripe at national level, however; there is a lack of attention from the counseling side in terms of training. As a matter of fact, there is not persistent curriculum at the spur of the moment, related to the ample training of counselor. Hence, in this article, there is a measurement of the intervention of treatment, optimism and finally the attitude. As a matter of fact, there is seems to be a positive correlation between the attitudes of students and the treatment intervention (Chasek et. al., 2012).

Findings

It was found out in the research that forecasting of the outcome of treatment is possible from specific attitudes, i.e., non-stereotypical as well as those attitudes which were subject to intervention at a specific time. This means that having a precise knowledge of substance abuse at the same time lack of stereotypical perspective is vital for the optimistic treatment and for its effectiveness. Moreover, the application of such finding has great potential to become a complementary material for the graduate counseling course, which specifically caters the issue of substance abuse. This, as a matter of fact, makes graduate students more effective in the treatment approaches.

Problem

Primarily there are not homogeneous curriculum standards for the purpose of preparing addiction counselors. However, is one of the serious problems which need to be addressed in order to alleviate the situation of substance abuse conditions?
