Introduction

Stevie Wonder

Stevie wonder is one of the singer's who have been blind all his life Steve is living in visual darkness of the world. Even though his music has been able to color the world with hope, joy and brightness, through His modest characteristic with which he started, in Saginaw, Michigan he instantly reached the heights of the musical stardom. He was the youngest star who was able to reach Motown Records at the age of thirteen. He started becoming popular through out the world and just at the age of twenty-one he was well known as musical genius. His intelligence and intellect goes further than music. But we can also view Steve as an activist who was greatly known because of his political voice, outspoken civil right activist and also the person who has capability of bringing a difference in the United States together. His harmony that was found in his music was also capable of helping in bringing quite a harmony in the cultural map of America. Till this day he has been continuing to produce records, play for the audience and write for the people from all over the world. Stevie's life can also been viewed as inspiration for the musicians all over the world (Beyer, 2002).

But the story of life of Stevie Wonder's life is not revolving around fortune, fame, and happiness unlike other famous personalities. Since he has also been suffering from blindness his entire life that only the person who is blind can imagine what he is going through and also had to go through crucial factors of life like broken relationship, racial prejudice and business conflicts, so his entire life is full of painful events. Stevie's music and the sense of humor he acquired helped him through his life and made him strong. And because he was blind, sound have been his ally and friend even before understood the fact that he was different from others, but he doesn't take it as a point that could keep him away from progress although he took this as a “blessing and a virtue” especially for the audience that have been appreciating his music, lyrics and voice for almost forty years. He also had the aptitude to view the world like some of the people within his generation (Beyer, 2002).

Stevie's world of darkness

This was the first time when he realized that he was not capable of seeing and was blind. And he also tells about the time the way his mother had to handle him because he was just five years old and its imaginable how hard it could get to handle a five year old who was blind and he used to get all his clothes dirty at the back of the house and she has to keep him at a side.
