Introduction

In today's world, there are many factors that determine the success of an organization. Out of those, “Human” factor is the most significant factor that contributes towards the growth of an organization (John, 2005). Human capital needs to be trained and managed to obtain maximum potential. When an employee grows and develops, the organization gets benefited. For that matter, Human Resource Management has a special place in constituting the fundamentals of organizational growth. Everyone is born unique in terms of skills & capabilities. A person may be jack of all trade, or he might be an expert of a field. If human resources are well-managed, then there is no way that an organization will fail in accomplishing its mission. Every organization possesses a unique set of values that is called “organizational culture”. It is essential to streamline the capabilities of human resources to that of organizational needs. The need of streamlining has given rise to the concept of Human Resource Development (HRD). Training serves many purposes; it enhances the capabilities & expertise of a person. Training programs have become a norm of organizational culture. It is because training serves as a catalyst that helps in personal development of individual. As a result, the whole organization receives benefits in terms of improved performances of motivated individuals.

This report explores the Human Resource Development program of a famous organization PepsiCo Inc. The report presents an analysis of four stages of a HRD program. For that matter, the report gains inputs from an interview of a training professional. The interview is conducted to gain knowledge of real world happenings. The report begins with an overview of the organization, followed by a description of the training program. The research aims to evaluate the training program as per the principles of HRD. The analysis is divided into four main sections; each section presents one out of four stages of HRD process (Werner & Desimone, 2012). The write up highlights the objectives of training & analyze the benefits. Towards the end, strengths and weakness of the HRD program have been analyzed.
