ABSTRACT
Truancy of students in the education is affecting the performance of the students in their school examinations. In the recent years, there has been found numerous cases in different schools of student truancy. Many cases go unnoticed because of the lack of attention from the parents' side. This is a serious problem in the schools which needs to be addressed immediately, so that, student truancy can be reduced and performance of the students can be improved. There is a direct relationship between student truancy and Performance of students on Standardized Test Scores. A student who does not miss any classes usually supposed to perform better in his or her test. He will have gained the course knowledge beeter than the student who was absent during the lectures. The problem of student truancy is affecting the potential of the students. Therefore, it is imperative to formulate such strategy as which can reduce the student truancy in the schools.

Introduction
Student Truancy is referred to any deliberate and unauthorized attempt to become absent from school. The absence is a mere wish of the student who does not want to attend the schools and make unjustified excuse for his absence. This trend is continuing in the schools which is affecting the overall performance of the students. Student truancy is easy terms is also call “skipping classes”. In this research paper, we would analyze how student truancy is affecting the performance of students on standardized test scores and what measures should be taken in order to reduce student truancy.
Background
The increasing tendency of students to skip school has become a culture. Students along with their friends skip school together to hang out or to watch movies. The parents become unaware about their children. When the progress reports of the students reaches their parents they are shocked to see their grades and question them about their progress. The students also show their unwillingness to answer the question of their parents. In this situation, teachers mostly blame parents for not looking after their children but actually it is the student who is responsible for his bad grades and all the humiliation which he or she had to borne in front of their parents and teachers.

Results from tests have served multiple purposes, such as guiding instruction, meeting accountability demands, promoting equity, and increasing efficiency.
