Quantitative Methods and Analysis

Introduction

The purpose of this paper is to enlighten and explore quantitative research methods in a holistic manner. The core objective of the paper is to discuss the research methods in detail and then apply it to the prescribed scenario. There are two basic types of research quantitative and qualitative research. Each type accompanies separate measures for analysis along with data collection approaches. In this paper, the two statistical analysis approaches were adapted to evaluate the prescribed data. Moreover, the data would be analyzed and interpreted in detail in order to extract valid and reliable information through analysis.

Discussion

There are several data collection methods that can be adapted by the researcher in order to extract reliable information from the study sample. In a research study, the process of data collection can be carried out by a survey, interview, observation, experiment and secondary data accumulation procedures (Allen, 2006, 104-116). The validity and reliability of information differs with the type of data accumulation approach adapted. Nevertheless, surveys and interviews are considered the most reliable and widely accepted data collection methods in quantitative and qualitative research studies respectively (Berenson, Levine, Krehbiel, 2002, 66-74).

In this research study, the data collection method adapted was survey. Survey is one of the widely accepted data collection methods by researchers striving to adapt quantities research methods for conducting the research (Cohen, Aiken, Cohen, West, 2003, 114-123). Data collection process through survey is facilitated through several approaches; nonetheless, self-administered surveys are usually preferred due to reliability of information (Cohen, 1983, 44-52). Despite, self-administered survey, data collection in prescribed approach is also facilitated through telephonic surveys, mail surveys and mall intercept surveys.

Descriptive Statistics (Mean, Median, Mode, Standard Deviation and Variance)

In this section of analysis the data obtained from the sources of data collection was analyzed via the implication of descriptive statistics. The core objective of applying descriptive statistical approaches on the data accumulated from diverse sources is to extract the values of mean, median, mode, standard deviation and variance representing study variables (Ware, Brewer, 1999, 65-71). According to the analysis of data, it can be stated that the values of mean, median, mode, standard deviation and variance representing gender of respondents are 1.5000, 1.5000, 1, 0.50395 and 0.254 respectively.

Moreover, values of mean, median, mode, standard deviation and variance representing age of respondents are 2.0156, 2, 2, 0.76619 and 0.587 respectively. The mean, ...
