ABSTRACT

The paper pertains to the development of a project management plan for a leisure facility located in one of the cities in England. The paper explains all the processes for designing and planning the inception of the project, as well as, looks into a detailed list for implementation activities. The paper tends to approach the premise of managing the project right from the base to the inception.

Executive summary

The term project management is defined as “the process of planning, designing, managing and integrating resources to lead a project to successful completion”. The paper deals with the project management of a leisure activity centre in a city of England. The project is a major project that was handled to a small company in a city of England. The task of the company is to manage the project unless its completion and execution. The project comprises of a swimming pool, a fitness centre, wet and dry changing facilities, sports centre and other activity facilities. The project has to be constructed in a purpose built building, and therefore, has to be manager carefully. The project is being initiated by the local authority of the city for the public.

The paper describes the project management into nine different phases until its completion. The paper assures that all the project management theories are induced and applied to the design of the project management plan for the leisure activity.
