Mary Stocker, at the age 25, was a plump woman with mere 5 feet of height. With her plain brown hair, eyes and ordinary features, she could have been one of the thousands in a crowd and wouldn't stand out. She was shy and sweet natured. She never said a bad word about anyone. She didn't have a single manipulative or mean bone in her. She was as meek as they come. What changed her life was an incident with her 4 year old nephew. As was her habit, she took her 2 nephews out to the park on a Monday evening when she was babysitting for them while her brother and his wife were at their job. Once they reached the park, she spread a picnic blanket, gave a train to her younger nephew and a ball to the older one with instructions about not to go far. As was her hobby, she took out a book which was ever present in her bag. When she looked up from her book after sometimes, she realized that her younger nephew was lying a little distance from her. She got up to pick him and it was then she noticed his abnormal behavior. He was having a seizure. His body was shaking violently and his eyes were rolled back in his head.

She was terrified and looked everywhere for help. She didn't have any idea about what had happened to her nephew and what she should do then. She called her older nephew, grabbed her bag, picked her nephew with strange condition and ran towards the road to hail a cab and go to the hospital. Once she reached the nearest hospital, nurses rushed towards her and took her nephew from her. It was her first encounter with epilepsy. According to her, that was the most difficult day of her life. It was then that she realized how little she knew about providing first aid to anyone in need and what a difficult time people go through when no one comes forward to help them.
