Introduction

The efficient & effective use of available resources to achieve desired goals and objectives is recognized as management. Management is comprised of different steps which includes; planning, controlling, leading, staffing and controlling to meet the desired goals and objectives. The purpose of a manager is to effectively utilize the resource in order to maximize the company's wealth (Mejia, et, al, 2008, pp 19). Management is the art of management the distinct facets of the organization. It is furthermore a kind of science like the numbers is a prescribed science then administration is furthermore coming in the class of the prescribed science. But if take a gaze keenly then, administration is completely an art. Management is a field which is still developing; the changes are taken place due to its scope and significance. Over the years, society has become challenging the moral & ethical values of management. Many believe that management requires professionalization due to numerous reasons. In this modern era, professionalism in management is the uttermost requirement of all the organizations to accomplish the goals and objectives (Fiedler, 1995, pp 5-28).

Professionalization

The social process which transforms the occupation & trade in to a true “profession” is known as professionalization. Professionalization is associated with high competence and integrity. Without high veracity and proficiency professionalization cannot be achieved (Jacob, et, al, 2006, pp 1).

Management of professionalization

The concept of professionalization has been increasing in the modern societies. The situation of competence, integrity and loyalty which are necessary for professionalization practice is continuously challenged. This is very important to understand because it reflects contemporary paradox. The core of professionalization is integrity, honest and loyalty.

Management needs professionalization

Over the years, society has become challenging the moral & ethical values of management. Many believe that management requires professionalization due to numerous reasons (Reed & Anthony, 1990, pp 16-17). The reasons are stated below

In most of the prevailing business organizations, management has been separated from control & ownership. This scenario has undoubtedly added in the deployment of appropriate management. Modern manager has to control and protect the interest of customers, stakeholder and other social groups. Manager is limited in controlling interest of social group and has to control the profit motives of these social groups.

There is a rapid expansion of universities & other institutions to impart it with the management knowledge. Almost every organization is working on significant management training activities in order to promote management qualities among employees. The rapid growth of institutes and management training is an indication that management needs professionalism in the upcoming days.

The roles of managers have been manifold in all high tech organizations.

The world is becoming global day by day. The budgetary operations are going on a global level, in order to maintain the competitive edge management professionalization is needed. Specialized knowledge such as strategic planning, research and planning and information technology is needed to be controlled by a competent manager.
