Introduction

Early education related to childhood development is receiving popularity in the state, federal and also among various communities across the United States. The citizens are becoming more aware about the importance of quality childhood education for young children, and trying to devise ways in order to provide quality education to their children.

The recent data indicates that we as humanity are moving toward globalization and transforming the nature of our society from industry base to knowledge driven economies. The emerging economic system requires a different mindset and skill set for people to survive in this system. As quoted by Thomas Friedman (author of the famous book The World Is Flat), the current economic digitally capitalistic system require knowledge works who know how to manage and manipulate infinite knowledge available on the internet and to use it for their benefits.

Long gone are those days when our primary educational system was based upon memorizing facts written on text books. The new knowledge based society requires students to learn from the very early state the art social interaction, and the ability to work in groups to achieve ones goals. The responsibility of the teacher is not to make students memorize the text books, but to make the reading habits seems more interesting and thought provoking.

The teachers and the school administration in collaboration with parents should design curriculum, which make the studies sounds interesting to students, develop their cognitive abilities, enhance social communication capability, and to enable them to identify and grow their individual potential.

The current curriculum is designed for the pre-school students from 3 to 5 years old, and its primary objective is to create and foster a learning environment, to promote the development of a positive relationship among the children, to strengthen knowledge and social skill, and to enable children o take responsibility for their actions.

Dodge Creative Curriculum for Preschool

This approach was developed by Diane Trister Dodge, and based on her earlier career in working with the children in preschools. This approach enables teachers to make their teaching practices in continuous harmony with their objectives for students by arranging their classrooms to sustain teacher's developmentally appropriate practices and student's active learning environment into 10 interest arenas. These areas include house corner, cooking, music and movement, blocks, arts, computers, library corner, the outdoors table toys and sand and water (Dodge, 2010).

Dodge presented this creative curriculum in the late 70's, and founded the company named Teaching Strategies, Incorporated fort eh similar purpose. She has also written a parent guide for the developing baby's brain during the first six years of their life, an accompanying creative curriculum for toddlers, infants, and two year old, and another creative curriculum regarding family child care specifically design for the parents.
