Introduction

Human immunodeficiency has become one of the most lethal causes of death worldwide. The progression of the disease is slow, and it causes prolonged illness. The treatment strategies are implemented to control the progression of disease, towards AIDS. However, complete eradication is not possible. The epidemiology of HIV in United States shows that the graph of the disease is getting high, with a number of underlying causes. Amongst all the other causes, the marked increase in the population, and the elevation in the male population having sex with males and the sex traders in general is the main factor that has made the control and eradication of the disease hard, and nearly impossible.

As a report indicates, more than 1.1 million people in United States are living with HIV infection. The prevalence has been noticeably increased with the bombarding diverse population. These people belong to different geographical regions, with different races and ethnicities. With the augmentation in the populace, there has been an increase in the illegal and sexual abuses and activities. This has been a significant cause of HIV infection in the community.

Around 130,000 to 50,000 people are infected every year with the HIV infection. As the researchers indicate, one in every five patients is unaware of the infection he holds. The health care programs, although offering a number of services to the population, are still not enough to take control of ...
