Personal Statement

Ever since I remember, nursing has been a profession that sparked my interest in career opportunities. My interest dates back to my childhood time when my dad used to motivate me for joining nursing as a profession. He had a firm faith on me and was determined that I would excel as a nurse. It is for that reason I applied in the Master of Science in nursing program at the Keiser University. I consider myself a privileged individual to be able to apply in the university which can blossom my career as nursing practitioner and provide me pathway for becoming a successful nurse.

To be studying in an institute like this, I surely will be presented with some biggest career challenges and I am ready for them. It is a privilege for me to share some aspects of my life which are apparent from my academic records. After being encouraged to pursue my degree by my dad and relatives, I realized that school is a place full of challenges. Despite the fact that its career defining time in life, school presented me with financial and personal hardships. Being raised in a family full of health care professionals I felt out of place and decided not to pursue medicine as my career. Hence I decided to go for B.S in tourism.

However soon I realized the fact that something inside me was not satisfied, probably my soul. I was tortured by the fact that I sidelined my Dad's dream and m very own passion to care for society. Dad always wanted me to become a nurse because nursing is one the most prestigious job. It was my father's dream together with my passion to care for the people that brought me back to the right path and I decided to apply for B.S in nursing

At first I felt a bit incongruous; however I am in love with my field now. Nursing is a rather demanding and challenging profession, however I fully acknowledge that the gains will be magnificent, knowing that I am prepared to undertake this profession. I am desirous to engage in an occupation wherein I am competent to benefit and take care of my community; to become a nurse will let me fulfill this aspiration.
