“Changing your Course” describes the family history of Adolph Coors. The author starts of with an example of captain who figures another ship is coming in his way, leading to a collision. He symbolizes the captain as himself, who was not changing his direction to the path of God.

Adolph Coors emphasized how it has been his family tradition the motto of the life is to work and attain success. His grandfather was the founder of the Golden Brewery, even though he had very little finance when he started of the business (Government printing office, 2004). Later he was able to attain the luxuries of life, by devoting his entire life to brewery and accomplishing the position of being the third largest producer of malted milk in US. Soon his grandfather died, which is more likely to be a suicide. It was learnt that power, wealth and prestige are not the main source of gratification also said by King Solomon.

Even the authors' father was a successful business man who was dedicated towards achieving more success without time for church. However, “life does not shout, it just runs out”. God also tells, He has secured fortress that will be refuge for his children (14:26) meaning that we should thank for the gifts He provides us with and not put faith in them. God is the rock of our security. The entire legacy gained was unable to protect his father from being killed and time just ran out on him.
