Inter professional practice can be defined as an approach where the team members are encouraged to learn from each other. Moreover, members who are working in inter professional approach then they should share and work together for the accomplishment of a specific goal. There is a greater need for appropriate communication, perfect collaboration, and effective leadership styles. It is very important for the clinical professional to understand the importance of inter professional practice. Moreover, appropriate inter professional practice will surely help patients to overcome their complications effectively. Inter professional practice will also help young professionals to understand and get appropriate knowledge for any clinical condition. Getting knowledge and certain skills will help professionals to work properly. Moreover, collaborative working in the clinical settings is directly associated with the delivery of quality health care. There are certain policies and standards that should be followed for the accomplishment of certain goals (D'amour & Oandasan, 2005, pp. 1-15). Enhanced knowledge and understanding of inter professional team leadership styles are extremely important for the professionals to work in collaboration. Moreover, a number of studies and literature have shown that collaborative working in the clinical settings have a direct impact over the quality of care. There has been a drive for change in health and social care services, events of public outrage, and tragedies within the health and social care systems. These tragedies have been exposed over the years into the media.

Professional Barriers in Collaborative Working

There are a number of benefits that are associated with the collaborative working. Delivery of quality and ideal health care is considered as one of the most important benefits of collaborative working. However, there are certain professional barriers and tensions that are responsible to destroy the entire essence. Professional barriers can be defined as certain situations, conditions, techniques, skills, and practices that are associated with the conflicts in a team. It is very important for the professionals to overcome these barriers for appropriate functioning of system (Fischer, 2004, pp. 152-161).

I am a social health worker, and working in a hospital since year, 2012. It is included in my job description that I have to work in a team for the delivery of quality health care to the patients.
