There are different types of abnormalities related to psychological disorders. It can be classified as four D's which encompasses the following abnormalities.

Deviance: it extricates the deviation of specific thoughts, emotion and behavior for being unacceptable and uncommon in the surroundings.

Distress: it involves exertion of negative behavior by the individual due to the level of his or her discomfort with by his illness.

Dysfunction: it encompasses the abnormalities in the behavior of the individual that distracts him from doing normal routine tasks and prevents him from living a normal life. Dysfunction is not always caused by a disorder, it can be caused voluntary for instance due to a strike of hunger.

Danger: it involves harmful and violent behavior of the individual that provokes him to commit a dangerous activity which may harm the individual himself as well as other people in the surrounding. For instance, attempt to commit suicide.

Cultural aspects have direct impact on the concept of psychopathology. Researchers are attempting to pick up the core universal elements that have impact on psychopathology and culture is one of the most important elements. It has direct influence on the psychopathology in terms of positive and negative prognosis.
