Introduction

Organizational communication is the relatively new and advance field which comes under the discipline of communication studies. As a field, organizational communication is the process of analysis, evaluation and the role of communication within the organizational context. The earlier traces of organizational communication can be connected to the business communication and business information and earlier mass communication studies. But currently this field has its own well established theories and empirical concern which differentiate it from rest of the related communication fields. The process of organizational communication allows the management of the organization to virtually understand all the human process of communication within the organization. It also allows the management of the organization to evaluate and inculcate the expected communication skills among its employees which are considered essential for organizational communication.

In this research paper we will explore the scope and effectiveness of organizational communication. We will also put some light on the problems faced by organization with organizational communication. We will explore different aspects of organizational communication with reference to Sprint Nextel Corporation.

Company Overview

Sprint Nextel corporation offers wide range of wireline and wireless communication services to business, governmental agencies and individual customers. The company engineers, develops and deploys technologies of first wireless fourth generation services from a national carrier in U.S. the products of sprint corporation consist of mobile data services, Virgin Mobile USA, Assurance Wireless, Boost Mobile and Push to Talk capabilities. In July 2013, the company completed the process of merger with SoftBank Corp and Nextel Corporation and became the parent organization of Sprint Nextel and latter company changed its name to Sprint Communication Inc.
