What is Multiple Myeloma

Multiple myeloma, from a Greek word myelo- that means bone marrow, is also called as Kahler's disease (after the Otto Kahler) or plasma cell myeloma, is plasma cell cancer; plasma cell is a kind of white blood cell which has a responsibility to produce antibodies. In this disease, groups of irregular plasma cells are accumulated in bone-marrow. These abnormal plasma cells in bone-marrow interfere in the making of regular blood cells. In majority cases of this disease, there is a production of abnormal antibody called as para-protein that causes kidney issues.
