Introduction

Mississippi and Missouri Rivers are the two well-known rivers, which have a significant amount of history. This paper will be discussing the history and importance of the two rivers. Mississippi river is the third longest river in the world, and the actual length of the river varies on a yearly basis. The Mississippi River and Missouri River together form the largest river system in North America, and collectively they are approximately 6270km long. The engineers are continuously trying to control the water flow of the two rivers, to avoid flood. As they don't want any other floods to hit the country and affect the economy, lives, and infrastructure of the country. They serve the different industries of the country, and it also helps in transportation of goods and services across the borders, to different States. Both of the rivers have a significant history, and they both have a long history of uncontrolled floods.
