Introduction

In the opening sentence of a paragraph, Jeffrey Jensen Arnett, provided the background of the article “Suffering, Selfish, Slackers? Myths and Reality About Emerging Adults,” and acknowledge the contribution of other researches.

Settersten & Ray (2010) defined adulthood as not an event but a continuous process of development of the child to an adult. Arnett argued that adulthood period start in late teens and ends in early twenties.
