Minority and Immigrant integration in western post-industrial societies
Introduction
The Western society has a very discriminatory criminal policy for the minorities. Countries like the United States, Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy and the United Kingdom. The racist minority policies have increased after the 9/11 attacks. The image of minorities, especially of the Muslims and the Africans has changed a lot in the minds of the Western citizens. People of these countries think that minorities are terrorists, and they are the cause of the global terrorism. The government of the Western Countries has played a great role in creating this negative image of minorities in the minds of their citizens.
The policies and procedures for the minorities are quite different from the regular citizens of the country and these policies have shaped the fate of minorities in the western countries. Minorities are not treated well in western countries. The economies have suffered a lot due to this discrimination and people are suffering from poverty. Wilson, in his book has identified this problem and according to him, when the economy has picked up, poverty has lessened. The western citizens think of them as people who are involved in terrorism and people who can harm the western economy. Neither of them is true. Minorities do not want to harm anyone; all they want is social justice, and when they are not provided with social justice, they lash out at the government officials and demand justice.
The government should play a constructive role in giving them their rights and should make sure that minorities are protected in their country. The poverty level in minorities has increased because they are not offered jobs (Wilson, pp.641). Appropriate laws should be formed for minorities, so that they feel secure in a western country and know that they have the protection if something wrong is done to them. The image of minorities that have been created after the 9/11 terrorist attacks should be changed, and the government should play a constructive role in doing so. The government should take meaningful steps to implement proper minorities' policies and laws that will be helpful in re-creating the image of the minorities. This new image will be a positive one for minorities and will give them their due place in the society as well as in the law. The minority laws will help in protecting their rights and will also create ways in which they can exercise their rights.

People's Perception
The perception of the Western citizens plays a vital role in providing social justice to the minorities. The general perception of the people in the Western countries is that they do not respect the minorities. They do not want them to their country mainly because of the image that has been created of terrorists. The Africans are not given their appropriate rights because of the issue of racism (Jackson, pp. 6). Even today consider the issue to colors and race and are unable to give them their appropriate rights. The policies and laws should be ...
