Going to work for several people is not merely a job rather also an adventure. Morale and productivity at the workplace at present is not what it used to be. Currently, the climate of the global economic condition has caused problems in the work life of several individuals. By means of employing interviews and surveys, three areas of concern have been identified which must be addressed for the order of modifying the tumultuous workplace atmosphere. These three areas that would also be discussed in this paper include personal and professional development, a sense of belonging, and appreciation and recognition.

A process must be instituted at the workplace that would recognize the person as well as the contributions from the team by various means. It has been observed in various studies and across several organizations that the employees that have a boosted morale are more productive compared to the ones that are discontented counterparts. By this means, costs allied to training and recruitment of new employees is also reduced. The fundamental principles of employee motivation are unchanged. Several employees across various organizations pride themselves on an approach called “new school” for addressing the issues of employee motivation and satisfaction (Ballou, 2003).
Since a long time, the concept of “if you don't like it than quit” has pursued however this approach would not be essential if the objects identified are employed. Numerous surveyed employees believe that this approach is still employed in various organizations (Skudiene & Auruskeviciene, 2012). For the order of acquiring an enhanced understanding of the ways and methods to boost up employees' morale and motivation, the leaders and managers should first realize the fundamental human requirements that are allied. Several such requirements are best demonstrated by the Hierarchy of Needs Pyramid presented by Maslow. Most of the employers acquire satisfaction of the first level of requirements recognized as the physiological by means of compensation (George & Jones, 2008).
The revenues earned by the employees are what is required for taking care of the needs like utilities, shelter, food, and other necessities. This is something obvious that most of the employees would want to earn increased amount of money, nevertheless, this is not a prioritized shortcoming. The findings of the surveys and the analyses of the interviews virtually mimicked the pyramid put forward by Maslow. Safety, the second level of the pyramid is vaguer. Several employees, under the current economic conditions, deem that their sense of safety is at stake and as the economy gradually begins picking up, the management must attend to these issues directly (David, 2011).
