Whether it is related to toothpaste, shampoo, lipstick, deodorant or even beautifully designed and stitched clothing, this all falls under the domain of makeup and physical grooming of a person.

The Orient

Painting, which are centuries older have profoundly depicted the penetration and use of fashion and self-grooming in that age. Additionally, these picture showers light on the various makeup schemes which were originated with the concubines of that specific period. They had a believe that fortunes bestows on the persons as per their beauty and it would bring peace and harmony to them. At that time, the trend was to darken their lips and whitened the faces. This presented them as a rouge which are commonly observed in the Japanese culture nowadays; more specifically by Geishas.

Egyptian do have a lot of contribution in various grounds of advancements whether it is deployment of state of the art infrastructure or creation of one of the wonder of this very earth. They do have a lot of contribution in the field of cosmetics and physical grooming. The Egyptian is considered the pioneers of cosmetic related products along with their development. During the era of 1st Dynasty, which was around 3000 B.C., it was quite common to bury various articles or items which are considered as precious and valuable. These items commonly include gold, jewels, and toiletries. After opening of the tomb of Tutankhamen during the early 20th Century revealed the existence of numerous aromatic substances which are commonly called as fragrances nowadays. Apart from that, the Egyptian priests were also responsible for the incorporation of essential oils, which were commonly used during the mummification process.
