Around late 2000s, in USA many states restricted the observance of laws related to abortion that could not be put into effect without the approval of parents, which resulted in the increase of travel of the women to the states who do not observe these strict laws to get the abortion done. The enforcement of laws is necessary to restrict the occurrence of abortive practices. Abortion may affect the women health in many aspects which in turn affects the normal life. This review covers some articles addressing the abortion, its effects on life of a woman, social effects as well as the healthcare outcomes.
Literature review
This literature review will cover the recent researches, social policies in account, the legality status of abortion, laws that are exercised globally pertaining to abortion and the effects of abortion on the mental health of the women. The rising numbers of teenage pregnancies are a clear link to the intercourse without marriage. Researches also reveal that most of the cases are unwanted and unintended; most of them are sexual abuse cases, including the sexual activities in early age, having unprotected episodes and use of alcohols with the contraceptives lead to the unwanted pregnancies. In these cases, abortion becomes an option of choice.
When becoming pregnant accidental, there occur many choices for the ruling it out, one of which and the most opted is abortion. Studies show that these kind teens and adolescents as well, do not want to become pregnant as this affects their lives in various aspects that include socially and mentally (Kristin, 1995). Enforcement of the laws, which involve parents concerns, can give a positive impact i.e. decrease the rate of abortions. These laws require of both the parents decision and confirmation and consent before the process.
Certain studies and researches have been done on the abortion, the legal status, social effects as well as the personal effects and other problems associated with it. When the matter globally comes under debate, the public health and the civil liberties are always kept into the consideration.
