Introduction

Leadership is the ability to manage people & get the work done by them in a way that everyone feels empowered & apply their efforts to achieve set goals (Yukl, 1989). Leadership possesses the idea that people have some skills & abilities to manage things better than other people. Sometimes it is natural & many times it is nurtured by environment. Leader is somehow a mentor of his/her followers; he/she must also display efforts and observe things around. A military leader carefully observes those states and discerns significance looking for how to adapt the setting most effectively. Military Leader must have a good self esteem. Military is an organization where leadership qualities matter the most. Military organization is supposed to be the most organized disciplined and united social entity. A military organization must have some sort of flexibility in a way it is integrated. I have chosen Air Force in order to discuss leadership in any organization. Air Force is the wing of the military which requires high tactics, extra ordinary skills and very high temperament and other mental abilities. Air force provides the air defense to any military (Davidson, 1966).

Discussion

Military is an army or group of people based on human resources those are highly efficient in warfare and trained for fighting with threats and other illegal issues (Huntington, 1957). Military is an organization which also supports economic development through imperialism as a social internal control.

Military leadership is the process of persuading others to achieve the duties by giving reason and motivation. Having the command is the power a person in the military service officially exercises over lesser by the feature of his/her grade and position. The basic responsibilities of a leader are: Accomplishment of the mission and the welfare of the soldiers. The most basic and vital organizational technique used by the military is the chain of command. The chain of command is the sequence of workforce in an organization. It has direct authority and primary responsibility for achieving the allocated unit mission while caring for workforce and belongings in their charge. It is supposed to be the backbone for any country. It provides most efficient assistance to the country. It adds value in the entire defense system of the country. In Air Force guide on is commonly used to take guidelines and instructions. Air force mechanism of managing people within the workforce is based on pre-settled rules & regulations. But how these regulations come into being? What should be the patterns to guide people? How to direct workforce towards the true mission and how to persuade them in order to get the desired targets? There are a number of styles to leadership and management that are based on different theories.
