John Calvin's Golden Booklet of the True Christian Life
John Calvin's Golden Booklet of the True Christian Life
Introduction
Calvin makes an attempt in pasturing his Christian readers with a look into the eternal purposes regarding all the pain and suffering. Calvin encourages the suffering souls to understand that Jesus Christ was an example of the ultimate suffering servant of God and that temporal afflictions of a man are always sent from the Lord so as to cause us to fully rely on Jesus Christ and promote sobriety, obedience, godliness and righteousness. The booklet is a good, understandable read as it is considered as a distillation of the various portions of Calvin's institutes. This work must dispel the notion of falsehood that that Calvin is only interested in predestination.
