Introduction

Charlotte Bronte's novel came out in 1847, not without autobiographical elements, further put off by a first-person narrative. The protagonist is an orphan grown along with an aunt who has always hated and who decides to leave at the Institute of Charity of Lowood, where the child isolated and abused and living in indecent. Only one girl among all stays close to Jane, but when death takes her away, for it seems that there is small little hope Jane. His vitality, however, allows it to reach the age of majority, leave the place and getting a job as governess at Thornfield Hall, in the hands of the housekeeper Fairfax (Judi Dench), where he will meet Mr. Rochester (Michael Fassbender) (Bronte p.65). This is a man with a mysterious past, which is struck by the presence of gifted Jane, who in turn is hopelessly attracted to the man. Early in the film we see her own fleeing Thornfield Hall, and after the long flight, almost to the extreme Jane Eyre welcomed by Pastor St. John and her sisters. Even the shepherd is struck by the strong and resolute figure of Jane, and asks his wife to take her with him on a mission. The memory of Rochester has never waned and she cannot even begin to imagine the future with St. John.

Jane leads an independent life in her own little house. As St. John learns Jane's true identity, it turns out, surprisingly. Appropriately, Jane also inherits a considerable fortune from an uncle living abroad. When Jane entered in her professional life she met with Mr. Rochester.
