“There is no God but Allah; Muhammad (PBUH) is the last messenger of God”

Islam is the religion of Allah, and the entire philosophy of Islam is based upon belief on one God. This knowledge was transmitted to the world by the last messenger of Allah, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and four other Prophets named Adam, Abraham, Moosa and Jesus. The followers of Islam are called Muslims and they believe that the true message of Islam came down in the form of revelations to Prophet Muhammad and were compiled and written down in the form of Holy Quran. The words in the Holy Quran are the true words from Allah for the mankind. The theology of Islam sculptures each and every aspect of a Muslim life, culture and all the phases that cover the life until death. The hadith is the collection of phrases and messages related to the life of Prophet Muhammad and by acting upon them means a Muslim is following the Sunnah (Ali, 2004).

Islam is referred as the monotheistic faith and religion. It is the world's second most populated religion with many millions of followers throughout the world. The word “Islam” comes from the Arabic language which means “submission”. It is also called as the “din” for Muslims that it explains the way to live life like a Muslim. The Muslims are the followers of Islam as they surrender themselves or submit their faith, life and death to Allah.

Islamic Beliefs

The followers of Islam follow similar beliefs which are the true narrations given by Allah, revealed to Muslims by Prophet Muhammad for the entire mankind. The record of these revelations is present as it is in the Holy Quran and they are flawless and cannot be changed by anyone, nor there will be any additions to it. The final words from Allah are all compiled in one book for the entire mankind. On the basis of historical disagreement Islam two primary beliefs which came after the death of Prophet Muhammad, Sunni and Shia. The basis of each of the primary beliefs is based upon Shahdatan that is there is no God except Allah; and Prophet Muhammad is the last messenger of Allah. No one after him can claim to be the messenger of Allah and if anyone does than he is for sure entering into disbelief.

In order to be called as Muslim or to become a Muslim it is necessary to recite the above two statements and as well as have a very strong belief on it. The basic of belief is based upon six facts stated as:

Belief in one God(Allah), he is only the worthy of all worships and there is no one comparable to him

Belief on the Angles of Allah

Belief on the Holy Book “Quran” send by Allah for the guidance of mankind

Belief on the Prophets and Messengers sent by Allah
