Is Getting a College Education Beneficial Today?

Introduction

College education is an intermediary amidst secondary schooling and university. College education stabilizes an individual not only on an intellectual level but also on an emotional or emotional level. The importance of college education varies with the perception one holds about it. One school of thought dismisses the concept of college education because of the high tuition costs associated with it. I believe that college education is mandatory as (Immerwhar, p. viii) states that it is mandatory for Americans to attain higher education as it helps an individual prepare for its job and ultimately the future in terms of getting into the field that one passionate towards. Levine's research study conducted on 9,000 US based students concluded, 88% of the students are hopeful about their own future after college education; 66% of the students are optimistic about the future of the United States. One of the student's said that he believes that his generation will be able to fix the problem that the country is undergoing and that is because of the fact that this generation cares about the country and such attitude will lead the country towards success (Levine, p. 452). However, some often face the dilemma of starting to work and become independent or continue with further studies. Some of the significant supporting arguments for college education and its advantages are as follows:

College education aids an individual with developing skills such as rationalizing when it comes to problems, contemplation when deep insight has to be given, patience when something faced goes beyond one's control and effective communication when it comes to communicating with people operating from different vantage points.
