A number of definitions of intelligence exist in modern literature and theory, as many researchers have attempted to define it. However, there are some commonly agreed characteristics of intelligence: that it is the capability of an individual to understand and comprehend complex phenomena, to have problem solving and analytical skills, and to adapt to his/her changing environment.
