Interest Groups in America on immigration issues

Introduction

Various special interest groups expressed their disapproval of the immigration reform bills that have been virtually excluded from the table at the beginning of this month. Unions, religious groups, farmers and others have attacked each piece of proposed legislation.

The implications of these criticisms nearly passed the end of the immigration bill as a whole(Briggs 141). Now it is clear that while these groups oppose the proposed minutiae account they still support the restructuring of the immigration system. Broad support for the refill can transmit about changing accounts with fewer inspections of exceptional interest groups.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that interest groups play a key role in shaping immigration, there is no methodical empirical evidence on this issue. To inspire our research, we develop a simple theoretical model in which migration policy is the result of interaction between organized groups with conflicting interests towards labor flows. We estimate the key provisions of the model using new, industry-level data from the United States that we collect through a combination of data on the total number of immigrants and H1B visas facts and figures on petitioning costs associated with immigration. We find strong evidence that both pro-and anti-immigration interest groups play a statistically significant and economically feasible function in shaping migration across sectors. Barriers to migration is less in those sectors where business lobbies to get more applications and higher costs in those sectors where unions are more important.

Regardless of race or ethnicity, but most of all immigrants coming to the United States in search of a better life. For most immigrants and their home countries offer limited opportunities, but also illegal immigrants is a risk that they are trying to move to the United States. Illegal immigrants have support for some time did not have enough support to others.

Some pro-immigration groups include: "We are America Alliance, Border Angels, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and a new American campaign opportunities.
