In Vitro Fertilization in Culture and Media - Damashata Washington

In vitro fertilization has completely transformed the means of productivity and fertility in humans. The couples which have certain defects in their reproductive system which cannot be cured by any treatment can also produce their off springs by this method. Now a day the method of treatment for having a baby is very popular as the proven and effective treatment for fertility related issues. As far as the cultural influences are concerned for this technique, it received a lot of criticism by the many religious peoples and fundamentalists because it is out of the way of conventional sexual intercourse based reproduction and having fertility. This method has certain moral and ethical implications which have also been discussed.

One of the significant achievements of the past century can be considered without a doubt change in the social status of women in many countries around the world. Getting an education, career, achieving a certain social status demanded that they change the attitude towards such an important purpose, as a continuation of the species. Delaying childbirth to a later period of life has led to the fact that at the time when the woman decided to take this step, its capabilities are limited in reproduction. Infertility is another reason why older women continue to search for ways to have a child. The solution to these problems is offered to physicians and biologists.

IVF (in vitro fertilization) has opened up new possibilities in the field of reproduction. With this method, not only became real to overcome infertility, but also to approach the study of a number of biological phenomena from a new angle. Not all of the known methods for estimation of gametes and embryos can be used in clinical IVF program in full. Thus, a detailed study of the morphological characteristics of the egg cannot be at risk of damage. For this reason, the quality of the egg it is judged by the functional characteristics, i.e. the ability of the normal fertilization and further development. This is based on the fact that the first cleavage factors are regulated by the egg and the effect of the male genome begins to appear on the stage of 4-8 blastomeres. In this regard, the study features fertilization of oocytes and subsequent embryo development can be seen as a way to assess oocytes.

The literature on the impact of the woman's age on the process of fertilization of eggs and the development of human embryos in culture is quite contradictory. M.Hull et al. to analyze the results of 561 IVF treatment in women aged 25 to 44 years, with the first attempt at treatment had normal ovulatory cycle and the semen husband, did not reveal the frequency dependence of fertilized oocytes from aged patients. According to American researchers age does not affect the processes of fragmentation and the number of blastomeres in the embryo. These authors noted that only embryo morphological feature, which thus ...
