Personal Observation

The first person I observed was a young man on campus. He had dark skin, a beard, was short, dark hair, nice clothes. I think this guy was Middle Eastern decent, possibly Saudi Arabian. I think he had a lot of money because he was talking on an expensive phone, had really nice clothes, shoes and an expensive car. He looked young and healthy. But he was smoking a cigarette which I consider very unhealthy. I'm guessing he is from the Middle East. I believe his family has a lot of money and that his family is from somewhere in the Middle East. His beliefs look like he is trying to adopt American culture by wearing many popular clothing brands. He looked relaxed and focused on wherever he was going.

The 2nd person I observed was a young woman. She was pretty, blonde and had on nice clothes. She had a blue purse, black heels, a skirt and a jacket. I think she looked like a sorority girl. She had Starbucks in her hand and looked like a pretty standard college girl. She was a white girl. I think she was probably around 21 or 22. I'm guessing most likely she is from the U.S., most likely Oregon or California. She looked healthy and emotionally stable. She looked focused on where she was going. It was hard to tell much about her background. If I had to guess I would think she is from a normal middle class home and family (Hagen & McCarthy, 1998). These assumptions would probably come from my experience and interactions with people on campus. I've noticed most average white students are from California or Oregon. The majority is from Portland.

The 3rd person I observed was an older man whom ...
