History of Islam

Introduction

This research paper deals with the study of history of Islam. There are different ways of looking at the history of Islam. In order to go in the pages of history it is very much important to understand the meaning of Islam. The Islam was brought up with the dire efforts of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). The study further deals with the main theme of Islam. There are some of the basic elements which are very necessary to discuss in order to understand the main spirit of Islam and that is the best possible way to understand the history of Islam.

Historical sketch of Islam

Although Islam as a religion was born in 622, should go back much further past to understand some of their traditions. The Arabs consider themselves descendants of Ishmael, the only legitimate son of Abraham; about to be sacrificed in a holocaust was saved at the last moment by the hand of God. This is just the opposite of what they say Judeo-Christians, who consider the rightful heir of Isaac Abraham. There was born in the year 570 AD, Muhammad, misnamed by Westerners as Mohammed. His childhood was quite unhappy because his father died before he was born and his mother did a few years. He was raised by a Bedouin mother, at age ten livestock grazing a neighbor when his uncle took him to a caravan. Since then toured many countries in many commercial expeditions highlighting as a skillful negotiator, excellent caravan driver and the most honored of few traders could be found in Medina or Mecca.

In 605 a fire burned the curtains of the pavilion where they kept the Kaaba in Mecca. The Kaaba was a meteoric rock, according to tradition, was built by Adam and, centuries later, and by Abraham and Ishmael restored to consecrate it as a house of God. Muhammad participated in reconstruction and is said by then was known to al-Amin, the honest. From that year Muhammad took the habit of fasting once a year retiring to live in caves. In his fifth retirement, taking 40 years appeared the archangel Gabriel who ordered him to remain faithful to new religious principles.
