Whether or not the war on terror has been a success is an issue that will be the centre of debate for generations to come. Assessing the success is literally indiscernible primarily because we will never know what the outcome could have been had the United States used a more peaceful approach to the issue at hand. To matters even more complex, many reliable sources of information have been repeatedly blamed for biasness towards the American cause. Many news channels refuse to share the other side of the story; how an innocent child no longer has a school to go to thanks to carpet bombing, how a little girl will never run across her courtyard because a UAV targeted her neighbor. The media gives unnecessary attention to those who do not deserve it; the terrorists.

With that being said, it is justified to say that the general public is unaware of the general situation. They are ill informed. They were made to believe a war was necessary. They were repeatedly scared thanks to an ingenious color coding mechanism formed to detail the current state of security in the nation. Thus, one can say that whether or not the war on terror is being won is a personal opinion, rather one based on facts and figures.
