Funding wildlife sanctuary with social responsibility
Funding wildlife sanctuary with social responsibility
Introduction
The increasing trend of the formation of wildlife refuge and conservation is due to the extinction of the rare wildlife species in the world. Several not for profit organizations are working as wildlife sanctuaries in order to provide shelter and safety to the wildlife that is near extinction or that requires conservation due to endangerment. They provide permanent homes to the animals. The Yellowstone wildlife sanctuary is one of the well known wildlife sanctuaries in the United States which is providing a secure and loving permanent habitat to the injured, orphaned or endangered and non releasable wildlife on Montana. This paper provides an action research study that discovers and identifies the prospects of the adequate funding, involvement of government agencies and considerable interests for the welfare of Yellowstone wildlife sanctuary that would possibly affect the domain of wildlife in united states, the economical and social aspects of the red lodge projected future and the enhancement of tourism in the united states of America. The interviews are being conducted from the community of Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary (YWS) that is located in Red Lodge, Montana. The action research is done according to the prescribed action research format that involves cycles of action research.
Theoretical Framework
Action research is a way to transform the relationship with the client. I believe that I could not conceive a proper research without the adequate understanding of the processes of the client organization which is in this case the Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary (YWS).
The increasing use of action research in the field of environment posses positive implications that are required for the management of natural resources and the potential for social responsibility in preserving the endangered wildlife. The field is a vast one that requires answers to a number of issues that seems irresolvable through traditional management styles and views. It is needed that one party or the other should change their point of views at the end of the research process in order to effectively implement the prospects of the action research. This action research project is based on an underlying assumption that require the impact of social change which is dependent upon the understanding and commitment of my client that is Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary (YWS) towards the change process. The work is done in collaboration with the Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary in order to understand the social responsibility to solve the funding issues of the organization, negotiation ideas and clarifying the concerns (Allen, 2001). There will be more likely to change their mind if their joint research indicates such changes necessary. Also, it is suggested that collaboration can provide people with the interaction and support necessary to make fundamental changes in their practice, which endure beyond the research process (Allen 2001).
