The paper analyses the critical review of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. The author was most popular British romantic poet, travel writer, novelist and biographer. Her most popular novel happened to be Frankenstein in 1818 which was accredited as the pioneer of science fiction. The novel is also used for the nightmares of proliferation and is related to the uncertainties of childbirth and death of family members. The story made a huge success but also faced huge criticism and negative comments as well (McDonald, 2011).

"Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" is about a scientist who has the goal to create life, examining the limits of moral principles. Various themes have been discussed in Frankenstein such as loneliness, love, education, injustice, innocence, science, status of women, progress and retribution and eloquence. This particular critique focuses on the theme of troubled family relationships, and related to parent-child relationship. This analysis reviews the critique on Frankenstein by Laura Claridge (Ames, 2009).
Claridge starts the review by relating the story with the family background of Mary Shelley. Claridge criticizes that the story shows the human beings' letdown to parent their offspring in a proper way who don't take positive part in society, rather retreating into themselves. Claridge makes use of various characters and presents them with dissimilar perspectives. She criticizes the way Victor Frankenstein was brought up as he was neglected in his childhood. I support this argument because Shelley has shown family problems in Frankenstein.
