Introduction

The most frequent anthologizes “Flowering Judas” by Katherine Anne Porter is quite well known because of its rigid technical construction, its unity based on themes and its richness in symbolism. Katherine Anne Porter was born on 15th May 1890. She was awarded with a Pulitzer Prize Winning American Journalist, political activist, essayist, Novelist and short story writer. In 1962, her novel “Ship of Fools” was one of the bestselling novels in United States; however, her short stories got a lot more critical acclaim. She is very well known for her in-depth analysis of the surroundings and penetrating insight. Most of the work done by her revolves around the dark themes, for instance betrayal, origin of human evil and death. In the year of 1990, Recorded Texas Historic Landmark number 2905 was sighted in Brown County Texas in order to honor the career and life of Katherine Anne Porter. She got died in 18th September, 1980.

Katherine Anne Porter's writing style is considerably different as compare to other writers. While reading her writings, the reader automatically feels himself/herself at her place and views the world through her words. Flowering Judas was her first book, which was written in 1930, which was published by Harcourt Brace. Even though it was a best collection of short stories, it met with the diffident sales.
